As an avid reader and lover of all things Literature, the majority of my free time is spent nestled in my reading corner immersing myself in a good book. Reading has always been my perfect form of escapism and is what I gain the most enjoyment out of. With the aim of diversifying my reading as much as possible, I launched my own Bookstagram account (@thebwordx), in order to discover new books and to generate conversations with other book lovers about our favourite reads! As a woman who has always been extremely passionate about feminism, I and a friend launched our very own digital book club called Asking for Lit on Bookstagram too. To learn more about what we do, check out my book club tab!

Graduating from Leeds Beckett University with a 2:1 in English Literature and Creative Writing, I didn’t want my study journey to end there. So now, I am currently completing my MA in Publishing at the University of Derby! I couldn’t think of a more perfect course to do as my dream role of becoming an editor in a publishing house increases each day.

As well as this, I have contributed several articles to the online platform, Cohorted Cult. Writing for this magazine has enabled me to apply my editorial and writing skills that I have developed from my studies, to create content that engages and captivates the female audience. It is a privilege to write for a platform that promotes female empowerment, as Cohorted Cult has created a safe space where women can read a range of articles that are relatable, captivating and educational.

Also, as a member of Flexus Dance Collective Alumni, a nationally recognised organisation funded by the Arts Council, I have returned as a freelance writer, helping design their monthly newsletters and running my own column to discuss topics that I am most passionate about, whilst relating them to the arts. This has ranged from female empowerment, mental health and the 'Save the Arts' campaign. It has been a privilege to discuss these topics as I have been able to shine a light on some of the demands that the arts industry confronts artists with on a daily basis.
