As we all face the dreaded outbreak of Covid-19, we’re hunting for things to cheer us up and help us crack that cheeky smile we’ve all been desperately craving. So to help you escape your misery, I’m going to share with you some binge-worthy shows, that are guaranteed to take you on a rollercoaster of a ride. Are you ready?

Let's start with Netflix because let’s be real, we all bloody love it. But first, let me just reiterate this to you – this is no time for Netflix and chilling, this is simply the time for Netflix and dedication if you are about to watch one of these gripping series…

The Stranger:  This series is definitely one to binge-watch. With several surprising events and uncovered secrets that take a sinister turn, you’ll definitely find your eyes locked to the screen. ‘The Stranger’ is most definitely one of the most addictive programmes I’ve watched. This show takes you on a chaotic journey. You find yourself following the lives of several families that are supposedly living their happy lives, until we are introduced to a stranger that visits town, which quickly becomes unpleasant. The stranger exposes several lies and secrets, which is definitely not welcomed by the victims and creates huge conflict between the neighbourhood. I definitely suggest you give this a watch if you are into the dark and mysterious types of series!

The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez:  If you are into the true crime documentaries that involves all of the dark and twisted moments, then you should certainly give this a go. Although I have to warn you, it does contain some very disturbing stories involving child abuse that are truly upsetting. Sadly, young Gabriel was brutally murdered by his mother and stepfather in the home they once stayed in at just 8 years old. The documentary shows the murder trials of Pearl Fernandez and Isauro Aguirre after they forced Gabriel to endure years of pain and torture. It is definitely one that triggers your emotions, as you witness the court cases unfold.

Sex Education:

On a lighter note, ‘Sex Education’ is without a doubt one of the best series I’ve watched. A group of teenagers that become sex-obsessed are needing some guidance from a knowledgable person on the subject. So what better person to turn to than the son of a sex therapist? Otis and Maueve team together to start up their sex advice business at their current school, but what good could come of that? This series will take you on a comical journey that will have you binge-watching before you know it.

Just when we thought we’d completed Netflix and there was nothing left for us, we were then saved by the release of Disney+. I mean, what more could we possibly want? You can sign up to Disney+ for £5.99 a month and you will gain access to all things Disney. That’s right, they’ve got Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, oh the list is just endless… Not only the classic programmes, but they have all the films that you once immersed yourself in as a child. It’s time to take it back to the 2000s! Are you overwhelmed? I’m so overwhelmed – what a great time to be alive, well besides the uncertainty thats in the air of course. BUT, it’s about appreciating the little things in life, that make each day easier.

Netflix is fun, but after a while you may feel as though things are getting repetitive. You’ve made your way through Netflix, now it’s time to head over to ITV Player, where you’ll find some hidden gems.

If you’re a Gogglebox fan, then you’ll know that this next one is a current favourite…

Liar: If you haven’t heard of it already then you will certainly hear of it now! Not long ago, ITV blessed our screens with a sinister series that covers some seriously disturbing topics. Yet, it’s one that you will quickly become obsessed with I can assure you of that. As a toxic and threatening character is introduced that embarks on some very sinister acts, you soon become immersed into some tragic events containing sexual abuse and rape. But it doesn’t stop there, things take a turn for the worst as the victims are forced to face even more conflict. So, get ready, take your position and switch on this binge-worthy show.

All these shows are definitely worth settling down on your sofa with your loved ones during this scary pandemic that we’re all sadly enduring. So, get that TV on and get binging!

Take care, Stay Safe, #StayHome.
